Degree

Hello -

I have just got a job in HK - I have a contract but I have to fill out the Visa application form - On my CV I have put that I have a degree, this is not the case - I did go but did not finish.......Do the chinese officials actually check and phone universities? (this was in the US by the way)

Thanks JK

Immigration are strict, I think you will have a problem.
They generally demand written proof for everything.

For education qualifications they will request the original
and a certified true copy. A certified true copy, is a photocopy that is signed by an attorney.

Thumbs down Problem!

You will have a problem; with the immigration department, with your potential new employer, or both. The reason why you will have a problem is that you have shown yourself to be less than ethical by lying in your application process and claiming to have something that you do not! People go to university for many years to attain degree qualifications. If you wish to claim to have a degree, then do the hard yards and complete a degree course.

I think everyone has got it right. The immigration department requires that your employer submit (if they're making the application) certified copies of any certifications which may have been relevant to your getting the job.

If the employer states that a degree is not required for your job, then the immigration department will not need one.
