If you can cope with that then I'm sure you'll be very happy

| | | We live in Causeway Bay and we love it here. It's very "down-town" so expect allot of people & traffic, but there's so much to do here. There's all the shopping you could want, 3 major supermarkets, tons of restaurants, 2 cinemas, huge HK library, public swimming pools and Victoria Park (for relaxation). If you like "down-town" living where you can walk to anywhere you want this is a great place to live. | |

| | | sounds great.. thanks for the feedback. Are there any outdoor food markets in Causeway bay, or supermarkets for that matter? i'm trying to figure out if grocery shopping is easily done locally or whether you have to go outside of causeway bay. What part are you guys looking at? The flat I saw was older and in cleveland st. | |

The flat I saw was older and in cleveland st. | There are lots of groceries/supermarkets in CWB -- Park n' Shop at the basement of Mitsukoshi, Wellcome near IKEA and at Leighton Center, and CitySuper in Times Square -- so there's really no need to go outside CWB for groceries.

| | | I live in Wan Chai but very close to Causeway Bay (if I need to take the MTR, I definitely go to any of the Causeway Bay stations) and if you don't mind people, it's a great and easy place to live.
Transport is great and you can basically find everything you need: park, swimming-pool, restaurants, markets (close to my place there is one with loads of fresh vegetables, fruit, fish still alive...), shops, shops and more shops (did I say shops?)...
It's always busy though!! The only inconvenient for me is Sundays: toooooooooooooooo many people (and if it rains, with all the umbrellas, just forget about it).

| | | i lived in cwb a few years ago near cwb plaza. noise wasnt a problem inside the flat because of doubleglazed windows. it was great living there as cwb has all the shops you would need and transport to go anywhere. its downtown and you can see people on the streets at all hours. | |

| | | if you love jumping down to the starbucks and having easy access to a host of other urban features, then CauBay is good. i lived in that area before for a while, and it wasn't bad, but just don't expect tranquility.
and come late december, you'll be able to enjoy the world's longest Human Moving Walkway. Just stand at the corner of Paterson and Great George, go limp, and the crowds will take you away.
Supermarkets: sure, 24HR Wellcome, pretty good too.

| | | Rolders - replying to your question on grocery shopping, there's VERY easy access in Causeway Bay. We have 3 major supermarket chains - CitySuper (high-end), Wellcome & ParknShop (mid-range) which are all central in Causeway Bay. The Wellcome is 24-hours which is a nice bonus. We also have 2-3 wet markets (outdoor markets) all within walking distance. I usually go to the one near Canal Street. For groceries everything is within walking distance.
The building we live in is a very old chinese building. It looks run-down from the outside, but the inside is very comfortable with high ceilings and thick walls. My one recommendation is pay attention to the noise in your flat. Causeway Bay is "down-town" so you need decent windows/walls.

| | | Hi Nina,
The apartment I looked at is also an old building (circa 1965), and although the outside and hallways are a little run down, the apartment itself is very nice. I will look again at it to check the things you mentioned (thick walls etc).
Sounds like grocery shopping is not a problem, it sounds like a great place to live.
