The city is at a stand still (no trains running and roads are jammed) and the rains are making rescue efforts worse...

This is so sad...everyone please pray.

I couldn't get through either. Try texting...that seemed to work. Well, at least 1 friend responded out of the million messages I sent to check if people were ok.

Glued to CNN hoping to recognize someone...

Prettty tough getting to Bombay, phones and servers inundated. My sister in law who was thankfully on an afternoon train out to Surat managed to get a call through.

Dont go to Indian sites for news as you wont get through-best bet is BBC worldservice which is on live at least for now

Mumbai blasts..

Hi Guys,

Posted this here, as did not know where to put it..

Some of you would have heard about the serial blasts in Mumbai, India yesterday evening..the news does stare from the SCMP front page today..

What I found discerning was that none of my colleagues, including non-locals, had anything to mention on it. I just moved from Mumbai a week ago..

I was not fishing for anything but the lack of concern totally put me off..

Does this somewhere reflect a glimpse of the aloofness of this always on the move city or just talks specifically about the people I work with....atleast puts me on track what to expect or more so not to expect, in the future..
