It kinda depends on your age, ethnicity and your skin type. If you're asian, you might be better off with asian brands like SK2 and Shishedo. They are a tad expensive for me though. I've been using Biotherm for a couple of years now and my skin is a lot calmer as well. A good facial might also help with the blemishes. And if things get desperate, see a skin doc.

I will suggest you to see a dermatologist to find out the facts for your blemish. Then a dermatologist will give you the skin care.

I use this stuff...nothing else has ever worked for me. It's a miracle to me. http://www.proactiv.com I'll probably use it for the rest of my life. How's that for a product endorsement?

Hi curios: I think first of all, you have to make sure if the blemishes are solely caused by "oily face" / "humidity" (outside factors); or if they are "internal problems" (bad digestion, lack of sleep, moods, pressure, etc.) I have the same problems since Feb this year (before that my skin was very nice and rarely grew a pimple) when I grew lots of pimples and blemishes on face all of a sudden (forehead, cheeks, chin and even down to neck). At the beginning I thought it's because of the change of weather (March is the beginning of spring and it gets humid) so I used some oil control product, anti-acne skincare as I "thought" my face was too oily. I used some very well-known and expensive brand names with superb quality, plus facial treatment once a week. But the situation is not improved at all, pimples are still growing fast mainly on the forehead, around the eyebrow, all over on my chin and by the rear end of both faces. And, because I "overused" the oil control products, my skin became so dry that it started to peel off! I spent two months looking for "solutions" but in vain. I was so puzzled and didn't know what to do with my face! Then I saw a doctor who told me that it is not because of my face or any outside factors, but it is my internal problems. Then I started telling her about my (change of) life since Feb - moved to a new flat (all the hassle); took on a degree course after work (3 nights week no rest after 8-hour work, lack of sleep); under intense pressure at work (too much to do with too little time); constantly unhappy because of some personal issues. The doc said it is all because of these internal factor. She gave me some cream to put on the spots without giving me any oral medication, and "ordered" me to go to bed before 10pm, no late night study, stop being unhappy, drink lots of water, just RELAXED and RELAXED. Then I tried my very best and within a month, pimples are under control and I don't grow anymore now. What I have to deal with now is the "marks" left from the previous pimples and I am using some scars removal cream... Now when I look back, the areas my pimples grew are abnormal and the frequency is completely out of order. This is a sign of an internal problem and we need to get proper treatment. However, if you know that it is purely because of the outside factors (the air pollution, humidity, face is too oily)... I would recommend you go for a professional facial treatment once a week and let them deal with it. They normally clean your face and pores perfectly well and use the products suitable for your skin. From my personal experience, one skin product may suit Miss A & B but not everyone. SKII "saved" my skin from hell some years ago, but it caused "allergy" to one of my friends. Go and get help from professional beauty expert who can give you advice on your skin. (sorry, my post is a bit long Last edited by Jessica Adams; 11-07-2006 at 02:38 PM.

Strangely enough, I've had the opposite occur. My skin is fine in humid countries (HK and the UK) and flares up in dry climes (Oz, Canada).

Yeah, I'm asian too. Maybe I'm just genetically adapted for HK
