Cool Sucks at Golf and Needs to Improve

I know I'm not the only one who sucks at golf.........

.....And it's no fun playing golf terribly alone, (or worse) with people who are great at golf. Especially if the event relates to your career....

So... for all you people who would like to get better, let's organise an open ended group to take trips to the local driving ranges.

Maybe one day to a real golf course, when we can play a 9 hole course in under 100 swings.

Who is keen for a driving session (somewhere not too far from Central) next Sunday 16th, around 2:00pm???... any recommendations?

Mind if I tag along sometimes when I arrive in HK? I've recently got into the habit of going to a driving range near where I live in California on the weekends and I've gotten quite addicted to it. My goal is to be able to play of golf from beginning to end. Do they rent clubs at the driving ranges in Hkor do you have to have your own?

Hi

Would been to have a hit. Started playing golf last year in Oz but not played since coming to HK. Not very good but can just about hit the ball cleanly and the lessons are still fresh in my memory so maybe could give some pointers. Not sure of driving ranges here but I think there is probably better options kowloon side.

yeaaah.... i started playing a year ago... on and off, usually play golf in the Fall/Winter, and just stick with watersport in Spring/Summer. I'm gonna be out of town for a month but would definitely up for some get together driving range session when i get back. Let's keep this thread going and get the golfers together. I quite like the Island Golf Club in the east side, it's the newest with nice shower rooms, very chilled with a Thai Restaurant.

I only took up golf recently and we go to the driving range in Tai Po. My friend has played a few courses but is pretty much a beginner. We're kinda located nearer to the Cheung Sha Wan driving range but go to Tai Po because there's free parking, an hour on the range is only $48 and the views across the Tolo Harbour are beautiful!

We're going to be doing a run to play a round at Shenzhen in the not to distant future, a place, as it happens, where golfing gear is a fraction of the price of the stuff in HK. According to one of the pro's we spoke to at the Qingdao golf course the clubs, etc in Shenzhen are good quality and are well worth the money.
