Job Vacancies for Expats???

Dear all

Where's a good place to look for job vacancies for Expats wanting to come to HK? Are there any recruitment agencies or recruitment newspapers/magazines/websites specialising in this market?

Would appreciate your input!!!

If you're not in Hong Kong, you need to be head-hunted / transfered. Not many agencies are going to bother promoting your resume to their clients, unless you have some extra-ordinary skills.

If you're in Hong Kong, just look at the Saturday SCMP and you'll figure out very quickly which agencies work best in your niche.

Thanks for the advice, but I will be going to Hong Kong this weekend, and I will be staying for a month. During this time my aim is to look for a job while I'm there.

I've had a look at the SCMP South China recruitment website, but don't know what my chances are of finding a job in Hong Kong? I'm not Asian, and I don't really speak Chinese. And I'm not being transferred to Hong Kong by my existing company, I just want to get a job in Hong Kong and move/work there.

Do you think it's going to be really difficult for me to achieve this?

Yeah that's true. Bring over your U$100m book of clients and your in.

There are no recruiters that specialise with expats in HK. If a job is being offered in HK with expat packages it'll be held with a recruiter based in a country outside of HK.

As for recruiters who deal with foreign firms keep an eye out on the SCMP classifieds (web and paper) and also have a look at jobsdb.com. Look in the industry you have experience in and you will see a stack of recruiters coming up. Go to each recruiter's website and from there you can determine whether their clients are local or foreign companies and whether they're impartial to non locals applying.
