Time it takes for contact lens to be made?

Just wondering if anyone knows the most reliable (and cheapest!) place to order contacts lens and glasses in TST.. and the time it takes to get them made?

Thanks!

Are you sure that you need custom made lenses? I can't remember when I last came across somebody who still does. There are a HUGE number of different prescription types available off-the-shelf these days - even daily disposable torics (for astigmatism), which took a while to arrive. Have you tried asking at one of the big opticians chains like Lenscrafters (what used to be called The Optical Shop - they have branches all over, including in Ocean Centre TST) to see if they simply carry your prescription in stock?

Certainly if you have just "standard" short -sightedness (i.e. a prescription of -0.5 to -12 or so) and no astigmatism then you should have no trouble. Personally I don't understand why anyone these days has anything other than daily disposables unless they have an obscure prescription in which they are not available.

As a rough guide, so you can compare prices before you come, a 6 month supply of Johnson&Johnson Acuvue daily disposables (which is probably one of the most expensive brands) costs about HK$1800 from Lenscrafters (which is one of the more upmarket shops). I guess if you shop around you might be able to get them for about $1600, and other brands perhaps even a little lower than that.
