Anyone know where I can easily find a list of lattitudes / longitides for the major / minor districts or locations in Hong Kong?

Wikipedia, for the 18 official Districts at least. For example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central...stern_District
shows:
Latitude 22°17' N
Longitude 114°09' E
For all the other 17 districts similarly I guess.

Here is where things go pear shaped if you dont listen

I degee Latitude= 60 minutes
1 minute Latitude = 1852 meters[I nautical mile]=60 seconds
1 second Latitude = 30 meters [about 30 steps]

So measure your pace and go walk about in the various districts.

Now things get a bit hairy if you decide to measure distance using Longtitude
see page one

The coordinate system of Hong Kong Map is the "HK Grid 1980" which is a local coordinate system. However, it may be transformed to WGS84 by some conversion programs or engine. For information of HK digital map data, please visit the web site at

http://www.landsd.gov.hk/mapping/en/...igital_map.htm and you may get free sample on the page

http://www.landsd.gov.hk/mapping/en/...sampledata.htm

If you are interested in the transformation, please go to http://www.geodetic.gov.hk/smo/gsi/p...rence.htm#grid for details.
In english please?

Looks like Google Earth might be the best option at this point.
