Hi all,
A little background of myself - I am currently living in the US but originally from HK. Had over 5 years of experience in technical consulting. Currently working in a small local consulting firm. Have a B.S. degree in Math & CS and a M.S. degree in software engineering. Native speaker of Cantonese and ok with mandarin; permanent resident of HK.

I always wanted to be able to come back to HK and work there. However, I am not brave enough to quit my current job and start in HK. I wanted to start finding while I am in the States and go back with a job in hand. I don’t mind traveling back to HK for final interviews if/when necessary. I know it is going to be tough, but I am not in a rush.

1. But I would like to know what the best route or mean to apply for positions in HK.
2. Would they even consider my application when they see that I am living oversea?
3. Are there headhunters out there that would be willing to help candidates from oversea?

Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello hong615, don't worry, I was like you two years ago, I came back to HK vacation for two weeks, looked for job in my last week and got a job with just one interview. I have a similar background like you, 6 yrs work experience, BS in CS and I was born here, with your background I'm sure you will find a job real quick if you are physically in HK.

BUT! one thing I need to tell you, I regretted for the decision two yrs ago, I can't crop with the culture here and work ethic. May be it's my problem, but I just can't stand the office politics and selfishness of the local people.

So, my questions is, why do you want to come back?
