immigration - need help

hi guys,
i need yr inputs regarding this thing that happened to me recently...
i am currently working in china and usually go to hk on weekends
to spend time with my best friend and stroll around, last time the
hk immigration interviewed me of the frequency i come to hk... and
asked me about my work, my friends info, house, name, number etc...
i have given them all what they need to know about me and proof of
that i am working in china but at that time thye have allowed me to
stay 1 day only in HK and marked -SCL- on my passport..

im confused.. will i be allowed only 1 day to stay in hk everytime
i will enter? i feel that its unfair for me as im not guilty of anyhting..
can anyone pls. tell me what was wrong? actually i cried a lot about
this and im sad that this happened to me...

my melody

My guess is that next time they are likely to refuse you entry completely. They obviously suspect that you are not doing what you claim to be doing in Hong Kong. If your friend is a HK citizen or a gwailo then it might be good if they crossed the border with you next time.

Do you have a work permit for China? Or are you there as a tourist also? I'm guessing that you are a SE Asian citizen?

I had a SE Asian friend who was staying here because her folks were expats here and she was applying to school and bumming around in the interim. She was questioned every time she came back into Hong Kong from China on visa runs until she was given a five day stay once because they thought she was actually working here or otherwise. She went to her embassy with her parents to get things cleared up but that was only because her father had a working visa here so at least she was in a better position than you are.

If you have a working visa in China, then that would help things greatly. Maybe you should go to your embassy in China to see if there's something they can do for you. Chances are, if you have a legitimate reason to stay in China, then it should help. Maybe your work can arrange some sort of working visa, or one of those APEC ones for you, that way you can enter Hong Kong without any problems.
