New to HK

Hi everyone,
I'm from New York and I've been in HK for a week now on work, and will be here for at least 9 or 10 months more. Things are looking good so far, and I'm really enjoying it here. Staying in Wan Chai, and working in Central.
I would like to know a couple of things:
1. The cell phone service discussions seemed to be targeted at making local calls, as well as calls to UK numbers. Whts the most cost-effective service to call the US (apart from Skype?)
2. I've been learning some Cantonese through Plimseur CDs, but it looks like I may have to have a conversation exchange . I'm not keen on the organised language classes, because they are too slow. So if anyone needs an English-Cantonese exchange, I'm up for it.
3. Who wants to meet up today or on the weekend for a drink or two? (I'm in Wan Chai, but can meet up somewhere after work if possible)

Cheers,
Kapil

UK and US calls tend to be about the same price. Almost any IDD service (PCCW 0060, HGC 0080, Zone 1511, etc.) will give them to you for no more than about HK$0.4/min, and with a bit of shopping around (or using a prepaid calling card rather than one-stage dialling) you can get down to about HK$0.2.
