How is the aquarium at Ocean Park?

How is the aquarium at Ocean Park?
I used to visit my local aquarium in Vancouver a lot; I enjoy seeing animals and photographing them, etc.

I know Ocean Park is mostly a theme park (at least I assume that's what it is) but I also saw that they boast "one of the largest aquariums in Asia" or something like that.

The aquarium I used to visit is about 9000 metres squared...

I checked the Ocean Park site, and there is no info on an aquarium.. I am guessing this is a case of the HK Tourism Board exaggerating a bit.

If the aquarium there sucks, does anyone know of a good one? Preferably not in China - we went to the zoo in SZ and my gf was very upset after seeing how the animals were treated there.

there's a couple of aquariums at ocean park...along with seals, penguins, dolphins, killer whales and one of those shark aquariums that you go through on a travelator. I used to love going there as a kid

Sounds good! The admission is pretty steep though, if you're not there for the rides...

The aquarium is really really nice there! I have been there 4 times last year and always enjoyed it!
I would definitely go there on a weekday, then it's not so packed.

there are NO orcas(killer whales) at ocean park. and there haven't been for about 9-10 years...

also you can buy a pass...
the silver pass is $375 you can go on weekdays and sturdays before noon
the gold pass is $495 and you can go anytime

definately agree with everyone here. also, they recently added a jelly fish aquarium with the largest collection of jellyfish in...i think the world (in captivity) or something like that...have a look

ocean park definately gets a vote and a half over disney too it's a fun place to be
