I am with Icable broadband, live in the Merton in Kennedy Town. The service is rubbish, particularly against poor NTL service back in the UK. Webpages takes ages to load up, especially foreign sites, MSN drops connection, try to download updates from microsoft, etc. Can see packets not being received.

Anyone suffered previous problems, suggest ways of getting out of the contract, escalation etc?

Download a copy of DUMETER from http://www.dumeter.com - It will show you your REAL upload & download speeds. I use it all the time to keep an eye on my connections.

UNregistered - it gives a read-out for several minutes - enough for your tests I would imagine.

icable in KT sucked big time for me as well. I was not pleased, and I'm generally a supporter of cable modems over DSL pipes. But the icable system was just too overtaxed/oversold and some of the modems they give out are absolute rubbish (mine had a part shaking inside whenever I moved it--go figure).

I ended up pirated a wifi signal from a neighbor that was much much faster.

Signed up with PCCW for tv package and broadband seems quick and no problems so far
