I completely agree with Shafin! (except on the Red card part )

Australia was robbed!!! That has to be the worst call yet this World cup, and Aussie have had more than their fare share!

Oh, and Pondok, I don't know what game you were watching last night, but it definately was not boring! 2 seconds to go and then that happens! My heart is still racing!

First the Socceroos are "robbed" and now they have lost their coach to the Russians.
How can you be robbed when you play with a man advantage for that long? Had the Aussies taken care of business that last second goal would not have mattered. (Of course, this is coming from an American where soccer barely qualifies as a sport.)

thetokyoproject can only hope to improve
italy's player dived, but that's part of the game...it's the world cup at stake...

besides, oz never looked liked scoring against the 10 men of italy. the italians were far more solid and comfortable.

if the italian hadn't dived, they would have won it in extra time or penalties anyway.

no one outside germany usually support germany, so my money's on them...they are playing some fantastic attacking football with a great solid midfield and back line... very enjoyable to watch..

the winner betw the argies and the krauts on friday will take the cup me thinks....

mate, the world cup has more televised/live viewers than any other sports or broadcast entertainment in the whole world ever (ok, maybe 2nd to the olympics) so i'll let the numbers do the talking...footy is the people's game...

ermm...cough....does anyone outside north america play american rugby? baseball is dominated by one asian country and a communist one outside the US.
and isn't calling the nba champions the world champions a bit misleading (are any other nations allowed to compete???)

American football's big in Canada, and gaining popularity in Europe, and seeing as over half the players in the NBA aren't from the US, I'd say it's a pretty international sport. Maybe there's no world cup of basketball, but the NBA champion can definitely be considered the best in the world.

Soccer (football) is actually getting popular in the States too, last I left...compared to where it was before the last world cup, it's definitely improved...wish I could say the same about the actual team.
