We live near the bottom of Leighton Hill. We really love this neighbourhood. It's close to Times Square (lots of shopping), several supermarkets (Citysuper, Wellcome, Parkn'Shop), a great wet market (Canal Street), Ikea (for furniture) and the HK Library (a fantastic library which I thoroughly recommend). There are also no end of restaurants in Causeway Bay. Is there something specific you'd like to know about?

I like the area myself, but can you tell me if it is also suitable for kids? It seems very urban, any green space nearly? Or is it only Victoria Park?

Restaurants / chinese life Thank you for your reply. I am for example interested in typical Chinese restaurants, like the breakfast restaurants I have heard about... Heike

Fly - Yes, it's definitely a "downtown" feel, but there are also plenty of green spaces around. You know about Victoria Park of course. There is also Tai Tam Country Park and Aberdeen Country Park which are both within 10-15 minutes from here. Then, there is the HK library (they have one floor just for kids), public swimming pool & lots of kids play-groups & activities near Times Square. It really depends what you like to do with your kids. Heikeli - There are hundreds of typical Chinese restaurants in Causeway Bay. All you need to do is walk down the street and you will see lots of them. I often stop to buy food or snack at the local restaurants. If you like "local" dining you will love this area.

i would say leighton hill is a very nice place.. its very close to causeway bay so you can find a lot of entertainment. theres also happy valley where a few good chinese "breakfast" restaurants are. theres also the weekly horse racing nights.. wednesdays and leighton hill allows you to view the whole horse track. eventhough you're not a fan of horseracing, i find it very fabulous with the bright lights and you can actually here the people's shouts. its a great way to feel the city life. also the concierge here are all very nice. the club has a restaurant - small i must say - but the manners of the waiters and everyone who work at the club all exceed expectations. i have been to numerous clubs of other residential areas like the leighton hill, and i HAVE to say, the people are very very pleasant. hope you will like it here!
