broadband, tv, telephone Hello. I just moved into a new apartment and must confess that I'm a little confused by the dizzying array of possibilities for telephone, broadband, cable/satellite tv and IDD. Does anyone have any advice on a company that handles most of those elements? Broadband is essential. My TV needs aren't great; CNN, BBC, some sports, maybe, possibly a movie channel. Thanks.

Now Broadband TV might be a good solution as they offer several channels on demand (i.e. you can selectively choose channels as opposed to having to pay for a package where you don't watch most of the crap served up). PCCW handles them all. End of story if you're looking for an uncomplicated setup and don't mind paying a few premium points.

Thanks very much. Uncomplicated sounds very good. I'll give PCCW a try. By the way, saw a lot of moaning and groaning about their service in some older posts. Is that getting any better?

Like all monopolies they tend to slip up every now and then. A little bit of complaining usually solves the problem. They have finally (4 months later) told me -- after I threatened to take them to the consumer council and OFTA (telco authority) for false claims -- that they'll install now broadband TV at my place.

| I recently moved into a new apartment as well. Netvigator provides broadband, which is my top priority, they also threw in a few channels free for a month of viewing. The thing to be careful, netvigator has several plans, the one I had required a software to be install in my machine, if you have multiple machine, there is a 2 user plan which is more expensive, but I am trying to find out if I can do a PPPoE on a broadband router and do NAT . | Chikakeru, You need to ask them for the DIY plan. This is a flat rate plan and yes, you can put a PPPoE router and set up as many machines as you want in the background. We have a 6Mbps DIY plan which has been setup with three PCs at home. |

P.S. Don't bother with their two user plan etc... just get the simple flat rate "DIY" plan.

Hi KnowitAll, thanks for the advice, bought a broadband router at the computer center in Mongkok and got it running at home, so I have a single user account with multiple PC running at home. Thanks Kervin

Wilsdorf, usually takes 3 to 4 days. Unless, they have some seasonal or promotional backlog.
