Hi guys, I just move to Lantau for a few months. Is there any good bars or pubs out there apart from the mall?

LAntau is a big place - you might need to be a bit more specific as to where... THe China Bear in Mui Wo is OK for a pint and a bite to eat after a hike before the ferry...

I have got a leaflet promotionthat there is a bar called mood@DownTown. They will pick you up from the MTR Station exit A (Tung Chung MTR). You can give it a try!!

Unfortunately, I have bad experience when my first time visit 2 weeks ago. I went there with my boyfriend and we were planning to watch england world up. We were not served and sitted immediately since we arrived. Match already started. She just gave me a little space to wait while they are setting up the table but where we were, we couldn't see a thing on the screen.

Good news!! I live in Tung chung and Just been to a new bar restaurant in Tung Chung called Aviator. It is like a traditional UK pub.

They do all day breakfast, mashy peas fish and chips,etc..The environment is good. I would highly recommend this one.

It is near Tung chung Crescent across the fountain. It is behind those property agents. Enjoy!! Price is reasonable. All day breakfast for HK$88. A pint for HK$39.

Make sure you spray up for mosquitoes if you’re heading to the Gallery or the Stoup on south Lantau or you’ll be eaten alive. The Aviator is the closest thing to a real Pub, Average food but good for a beer with friends. Moods is generally very quiet in the bar and you might be the only ones in it (except world cup time) Didn’t think much of China bear, too run down for me and the food is less than average.

Food in Gallery is great as well as the environment. Starz at the mall sucks!! Will try China Bear next time

From where?

The Gallery is in Tong Fuk, so if from Central then either:

- MTR to Tung Chung and then a bus going towards Tai O or a Taxi (perhaps HK$60?).

- ferry to Mui Wo and then a bus going towards Tai O or a taxi (also about $60 I guess)

If from Tai O then a bus going almost anywhere except Ngong Ping.

From TST/Kowloon it's probably easiest to get to Tung Ching on the MTR and go that way.

yes there is a good pub besides aviator. me and my friends went there at MOOD@DOWNTOWN it was friday night . usually they`ve got free cocktails for ladies MONDAY, TUESDAY,WEDS and FRIDAYS. but u must go there on fridays cause the standard cocktails for ladies there are just $HK20 dollars only. WOW! is that a great deal or what? bring your friends over there and enjoy and also the atmosphere is nice sort of a nature type place. the service was good and the food over there is very very nice and they have an asian cuisine and a karaoke usage for free when u dine or drink there. they have billiard table aswell. i enjoyed it!!! give it a try guys.
