Question Salary of a Junior SAP Consultant

Does anyone have an idea of the salary range of a Junior SAP Consultant in HK? By junior, I am referring to someone who has at least 2-2.5 years experience in SAP.

If I am not mistaken you are the one asking about the reallocation package in another thread.

To be frank I'd be surprised that at Junior level they give you any housing.

The market is quite hot for SAP projects and there is a shortage of skills in some particular modules so your bargaining power will be higher if your skills are rare here (BW/BPS or ISU stuffs are quite rare here, while FI/CO are abondant...)

Projects are smaller than in Europe but in the past few years quite a lot were done in Asia Pacific. If you have good references (prior huge scale projects in europe/us/asia..) you can also consider free lance.

SAP Consulting

Hi,
I'm a 5+ year SAP Consultant (SD, MM), looking to move to HK in the near future.

All the Jobs I have seen have said 'English and Cantonese' as necessary - although I am learning Cantonese it is not up to business level.

Am I wasting my time in applying ?

Iam SAP Certified in SD, have 3+ years expereince in SAP SD & MM Modules. Presently negotiating for a HK Company for a SAP Logisitics Consultant positions. Iam almost thru till salary nogitation and most likely I can get if the salary fits to us mutually .

Can I get any indication on the salary which I can look for? Iam presently working in Bangkok, Thailand and my Pay here is 25k HKD equivalent.

I understand, HK is very expensive & for my stay & living it would cost 15k apprx (planning to stay in Lamma Island) + 16% Tax.

What is best bet on the salary I can reckon? Please advice

Best Regards
Veeranki

Hi Netfiend

Hahaha sure sure.. I got the offer..and your drink is confirmed ..

Iam going to call you once Iam into HK and settled down..

Since you are very near to my work place (The center) we can meet frequently.

But, the deciding factor here is the Pay. Iam badly struck with the very less pay as they offer ..need to negotiate for saying ok to them.

Do you know any SAP chaps working there? Can you mail me some contacts at ajay (dot) veeranki attherateof gmail (dot) com

Thanks

Best Regards
Veeranki

Hi Ashby11

I shall be working on both Consulting & Support. Iam yet to accept the offer and negotiation is going on. But as I had been to Hong Kong and speaking to my gonna-Collegues, I understand that, English speaking would serve the job well. However it is desired to speak in Cantonese (well, my client's are most in Shanghai, China & Tokyo, Japan).

Iam a Telugu speaking Indian. English, Hindi fine . Can speak littile bit Thai. Working presently in Thailand. But, Iam afraid I cant speak Cantonese. I want to learn Cantonese (is Mandrian different from Cantonese?) as soon as possible landing into HK may be in December.

BTW...where are from? Which place are you going to work? You are into which Module? If you dont mind..can you give me any indication of your / any HK salary Indication?

You can reply back to this post or to my email ID given in the previous post.

Kind Regards

Veeranki
