go Karen!!

glad to hear you guys are still keeping the Swing going strong in HK. I'm currently based in the SF Bay Area, so let me know if you ever visit and want to go dancing. There are tons of places here...

Hope that you guys have found some leads too...
(gosh. it's been 9 months??)

Total Swing Beginner

Hey every one. Ok, I am beyond green, i am mr green when it comes to swing dancing, but I have a real interest in learning.

I have been bouncing around the forums, and i haven't seen anything really concrete on a school or place to learn.

Does anyone have any recommendation or suggestions?

Thanks!

Classes, social dancing and workshops in swing (lindy hop), check out www.hkswings.blogspot.com . As far as I know there is no one else that does lindy in HK.

Hey, thanks very much!

I checked out the side, seems like a lot fun! One question, and I could be missing it entirely (as I missed the site), but I see courses and classes are offered during the week. But I don't see what the enrollment or price is.

Anyone can help point that out?

Thanks again!

I have joined the HK swing dancing facebook group. There will be a beginner to intermediate swing dancing class/workshop this Sunday. Details as follows

SUNDAY JAN 13
Beginner-Intermediate Swing : 11am-1pm, Intermediate-Advanced : 2pm-4pm
Both classes will be held at Trio Spin Studio, 7B, Time Center, 53-55 Hollywood Rd., Central. Cost: HK$280 for 1 class/ $500 for 2 classes.

Sinclair Ang has been teaching Lindy Hop since 2000 at numerous workshops and camps across Europe, Australia, and Asia. In 2007 he taught a 3-week tour across New Zealand and Australia and for the Harlem Hot Shots in Stockholm. His classes are fun, but always grounded in good technique – what he calls Lindy Tai Chi, the ancient Chinese martial art, now translated into partnership, connection and dance technique, with an emphasis on the importance of music in dancing. He trains and choreographs for several performance groups, and has performed for the stage both locally and around the world. He is no stranger to television as well, having choreographed and performed for dance documentaries and commercials. He was also featured as a leading artist in his field in a local television series.

Hope to see some of you guys there!

HK Swings classes and dances

NY in heart, the weekly Wednesday classes are free, though we would encourage you to buy food or drinks at Grappa's to help support our friendly venue. We often have supplemental intensive workshops though which though not free, are inexpensive and priced to cover our expenses. These will show up from time to time on the blog site (www. hkswings.blogspot.com ) and in our HK Swings facebook group.

If you have specific questions or would like to join our mailing list then feel free to email to hkswings (at) gmail.com .
