duplicate visa

My current passport is nearly full with 5 years yet to run. If I get a second passport how do I handle the visas that are stuck in the first one? Getting a second passport should be no problem, I have a letter from my employer saying I need a second one because of the travelling and getting a visa at the same time problem.

Even if your current passport has its corner cut off all the visas in it are still valid. I spent 18 months with my HK visa in an old passport, showing both to immigration.

The renewing of a passport does not cancel still valid visas in the old.

Yes, but that doesn't solve the problem - the reason he has two passports is because he has to leave one at a consulate/TA getting a visa for somewhere whilst travelling somewhere else.

I'm pretty sure that Immigration will be happy to put a duplicate visa in the other passport for a fee (much the same as transferring it to a new passport - I think it was $145 last time I did it).

enquiry@immd.gov.hk to confirm.
