SHENZEN!...hahaha!!!..i wish i have the time but will make time to meet you guys!...

...the next thing for me is to settle-in with a comfortable flat..at the moment i am staying in a service apartment in causeway..if anyone of you can recommend a flat (not through agent)..my budget is just small..5k to 6k..i dont mind 30 to 45 mins away from central..i have been tracking down all the ads in geoexpat & asiaexpat but I have not found anyplace for me yet..

and 6-7k will get you a cool place around sheung wan. or a palace in mong kok. or an absolute sea view split level shag pad on lamma :-)

Congrats on your visa, Neil_010! And welcome to HK! 5K to 6K is a bit tough, but if you dont mind living far, or living in older apartments, there are options.

Tung Chung
Hong Kong Gold Coast

Kennedy town has older apartments for that price (but I mean old...)

I have no idea what is your nationality, it really depends on your own Unique circumstances of the case and your nationality and also what kind of work permit youhave applied for? there are many, investment visa, employment visa, Employment as Doemstic helper, Employmnet as skilled person.

In any case it is always good idea NOT to resign from your exisitng job unless you have your HK visa ready.

I have heard that a work-visa can also be activated by doing so at an Immigration office...any word on this?
