Hey everyone, as you may know, I planned our geoexpat FIFA World Cup get-togethers for the first week of this month-long event (see also: Information about: World Cup Outings through June 20). I am willing to organize more of the same but will need to know how much interest there is among you. Turnout so far has varied from 2 persons for the Holland game to about 15 for the Germany and England games. In particular, I would like to talk to Skidz management about the first two days (top 2 teams of groups A - D) of the 4th Round [Sat, 24th / Sun, 25th June] and all of the Quarterfinals [Fri, 30th June, Sat, 1st July] before they are booked out. Most likely, I will have to pre-pay the minimum charge of $100 worth of food & drink per person and therefore I need to get a good indication of how many of you want to come and watch. Once Skidz starts taking bookings for the next stage, I will put my name in the hat for the two 4th round matches involving Germany, Ecuador, England, and Sweden/Trinidad, which are scheduled for Saturday, June 24 at 11p.m. and Sunday, June 25 at 11p.m. Which of these teams play each other will only be known on Wednesday morning. I am also trying to get a table reserved for all of the Quarterfinals, June 30 / July 1. If you sign-up here, it will help me estimate the number of seats required. Since a deposit is likely required, I will err on the conservative side, so please post your intent to this thread.

Based on the posts below and last night's conversation during the Germany match, I reserved a table with eight seats at Skidz for the 4th round match of Germany vs. Sweden, kick-off at 11p.m. on Saturday, June 24. Seats are reserved for:

Freeier, here are the directions to Skidz posted earlier on the other thread: If you take a look at the map in the MTR station before you exit, it should be easy to find: Take Exit C at the WanChai MTR and turn left onto Lockhart Road, walk straight (past Luard Road) until Fenwick Street, which is the second intersection / traffic light. Turn right and cross the street (Lockhart) and walk one block over. The next street is Jaffe Rd and Skidz is at the corner of Fenwick & Jaffe across the street from the Jaguar car dealership. Walk strait into the bar and up the stairs. Turn right at the top of the stairs, walk past the main bar area and turn left , continue past the pool table, toilet doors and dart board. We are in the room at the far end, called 'Les Visages' and the table is reserved in my name 'Axel'.

However, please note that due to significant numbers of no-shows on the two previous Fridays [when I had put in a deposit for 15 people], I am playing it safe this time and will not put down a deposit for more people than those, who have already confirmed to me. If you want to be on the wait list, I will call people in sequential order in case someone cancels. However, to be sure to get in, contact Skidz yourselves and book your own table: 2866 3277. Getting into the back room without a reservation is likely to be tricky; last night was completely full ...
