i think this is a technical point.
most of what we get is the 3mth validity, single entree coupon that states a 12 mth working permission. so you need to use that, come into hk island and get immigration to 'turn on' the visa for you.

i have never seen it, but i heard there is another version where u apply when u are on hk island, submit your passport and the immigration dept just stick it into the passport for u and u are free to roam.

its all from word of mouth, pls verify on your own.

Ok...so if i come in on a tourist visa, would i be able to work straightaway? I'm only giving myself 3 days from arriving in HK to starting work. But i'll be returning to Spore in 2 months for a short vacation...Will i be able to 'turn on' my visa then? So complicating....

I beleieve that ImmD can convert your status from Tourist to Employed on the spot when you collect your visa. That's certainly what happened for me several years ago.

By the way - good to see that you can't get -ing and -ed the right way round; you''ll fit in well amongst the locals...

Oh dear. That explains it - if even the teachers can't write proper English how can we blame the kids?

sunniefaith: in your previous post when you said "So complicating..." you meant "So complicated...".
