My fault

Well I am doing my bit to block up the system. We have up to 4 people a week coming to teach just for a week and for every one we have to complete all the paperwork, go to Wan Chai to deliver it, go to Wan Chai to collect it, etc. We did ask if we could have some form of blanket approval but no go. Ho hum, don't you just love bureaucracy. Still it would probably be worse in the UK.

As bad as blighties bureaucracy is, at least the immigration department don't come out with statements like, "No, I cannot clarify what is meant by 'the same employer', as the HK government has no definition of what is meant by 'same employer' so you will have to decide for yourself what this means....", "So you can't tell me if working for X is legal or illegal?", "No, but bare in mind that if it is illegal we may fine you, and it is likely that you will be deported"

Ah yes, HK's fine third world standard bureaucrats...

This has to be one of the most racist and unknowledgeable comments I have come across.

Try the changes since the handover, the changes implemented to make HK really "Chinese" and then you'll be on the right track. Immigration guidelines are passed down from a long way north.......

I never expected a comment like this from you KIA.

Sorry to hear people have long waits. But to provide some relief, I applied for my visa in late april and rec'd it in the middle of May.. so I think it took overall 3 weeks or so.

It definitely helps if you have a relocation specialist firm helping with the visa application. Just make sure you have supporting documentation for each section of the application.

Hello Coolgirl & esquire1113

Is it possible to know what position/field of work you are in and your highest qualification background or experience? I understand that it's a bit private but it's just to have an idea how it affects the application of your work permit...

If it's ok, you may PM me. Otherwise, glad to hear that all go smooth for you two...

Cheers!
