Talking Bicycle Ride anyone?

Hey hong kongers! im looking for a bicycle place where i can cheaply rent a bike and have fun around the city and wild areas. preferably they can give me a map that i can follow... but im looking for something in the city and also in the nature scenes close by. Let me know if any of you have biked anywhere near by, where the good places to see are, and if it was a blast or not! thankss.

Hey PrettyStoked,

You can get off at Tai Wai station on the KCR. There are tons of bike places that rent off bikes for $90/day. From there you can ride to Tai Po and continue on to a place in Sai Kung called "Tai Mei Tuk" (it takes around 2~4 hours depending on how fast you go). The problem is the improvements they're doing to the Tolo Channel - the scenery's no longer that great but once you get past Tai Po and continue to "Tai Mei Tuk" and continue on to the dam there, it's all good.

It's a great HK experience, make sure you have some locals with you to lead the way. I don't live in HK anymore but I still have some friends in HK that might be interested.

Cool, just found the website for it on the HK gov't website. Scroll down to "Tai Mei Tuk":

Wow, how thoughtful of you Im actually planning on doing a hiking trip in Lantau to see the beautiful sunrise at the peak! and then to see the caligraphy stones with my boy friend. Can you recommend any good campsites or hostels near there?

You should join the hiking people on saturdays or sundays. I see some groups will go hiking every week. They usually wait for their friends near Tung Chung MTR station. Since i didnt go hiking, you can ask people there. I can do some research for you though.
