Students looking for serviced apartments

Hi,
we are two students moving to CUHK and we'd like to find serviced or furnished apartments not too expensive. (ie < 8000HK$).
CUHK is near Sha Tin.

Do you know some good address or good plans ?

Thanks a lot

Hi!

I'm moving to Hong Kong to attend CUHK this fall too. I have been having a lot of problems finding a place, as well. The people at CUHK highly recommend living on-campus, but you know how that can suck a lot, so I started looking for serviced apartments. Turns out the only place relatively near CUHK that supposedly offers serviced apartments for a decent price is Horizon Suites Hotel, but I heard it's a bait-scam scheme and they don't really offer a good price anyway. I myself called them to reserve a suite and they told me that nothing was avilable for the price on the website.

There are many places that are located two KCR stations away from CUHK (Sha Tin station) like Hilton Plaza, New Town Plaza, etc. but, from what I've researched, they don't offer serviced (or even furnished, for that matter) apartments! I've found places offered for only 500 per month, but they literally don't have anything in them, and it scares me to get into a new city and have to buy a bed and sign an internet contract and so on. I think I'm going to end up renting WStudios for a month (starting from 6 000 a month, serviced apartments). The negative thing is that it is very far from CUHK -or so it seems. It's one station away from Central. Another thing is that the rooms are quite small, but anyway, they are fully serviced and right next to a station, so I guess it wouldn't kill me to live there for a month or two while I look for a good non-serviced apartment.

When are you guys arriving? Where are you from? If you find something good and you need a roomate, please keep me in mind!

Greetings from Mexico,
Humberto

Bonjour,

A+
