I applied for a Citibanking account about two months ago and my Citicard (ATM card) only arrived today, after about 3 calls. Now I have to send them my acknowledgement of receipt and goodness knows how long until my ATM PIN arrives. Before applying here, I called to ask about opening an Australian Citibank a/c (where I'm from) while in HK, and NO-ONE - Australian or HK Citibank could say for sure whether I could or not. I didn't think it was such a difficult question... and here I was thinking they were a 'global' institution.

On the other hand, I've had no problems whatsoever with HSBC, but then again, I don't have much net wealth for either bank to handle...

In general, I do as much online as possible, and only then do I use phone banking. I just don't set foot into a bank any more.
