Looking for Hairdresser & make up for an african bride I am looking for someone who can help a friend do her hair and make up for her wedding. The difficulty is finding someone who is familiar with african hair and skin type. Any recommendations?

Ask Kathy. Her number is listed at the end of this article ... she might be able to guide you to the right person if she is not able to help.

Try the Mandarin Hotel's hairdresser shop. There are several female stylists that specialize in Afro style hair.

Thanks for the information. I called all the places and am currently waiting for them to call back. There is also another one I found which is called The Hairdressers. again, I am waiting for them to call to give me information.

I can highly recommend The Hair Dressers - Chris has done a phantastc job straightening my (very dry and curly) hair. I cannot say the same about the Mandarin. They "double processed" my hair in 2003 and it took me 3 years to grow it out. Instead of straightening only the regrowth they did the whole head and I ended up with hair that looked completely fried.
