i would like to install an additional lock to my front door. can anyone recommend a lock smith ? how much am i looking at for this ?

alternatively, i could get a motion dectector with alarm .. i guess these are more self-installable. any know of any shops selling these basic home security systems ?

In the past I've just changed the cylinder which is a relatively simple job with a screwdriver.

i shouldve been more clear, i would like a second lock. probably above the current one. i see some of my neighbours have also added second or third locks to their doors, i dont want to be anti-selected against by would be burglars

You should find out the lock smith close to your living place in order to save the transportation cost to the installer. You may ask your security guard or the management office staff to recommend to you thier listed vendors.

Actually, the managemnt office staff or security guard couldn't find a locksmith for you. I suggest you go to go Wanchai Lockhard Rd. (HK) or Mongkok Portland Street (Kowloon) to find a vendor. One famous is (PLC)
