Hey

C'mon everybody it's so opening game and you can't miss my country

Only a little recheck for my wallet, they want 100 HKD for each person and the drinks are additional?

That's a lot for a chair, however it's the worldcup

To clarify, the $100 is the average minimum each person should spend on drinks; there is no cover charge! If the total drink bill comes to less than the number of people per table * 100, then the minimum applies. Basically, they don't want people to sit at their tables and sip the same drink all night long ...

The seats for the England match are sold out but there is plenty of standing room. As for me, I prefer to watch the game while seated so I will do so at Al's Diner in Lan Kwai Fong. I have booked tables for 10 persons total and again seats go on a first come, first serve basis. Just send me a PM and I will put you down.

The official FIFA World Cup site on Yahoo is producing and making available for free hi-lite packages of the games pretty much immediately after each game is played. There is some neat stuff on this site already.

I went to Skidz this morning and checked out the tables reserved for us.

For the Germany match on Friday, June 9, we have a corner section for ourselves with our 'own' 42 inch plasma TV, guaranteeing unobstructed views of the match. The 100 inch screen is further back but within our line of sight.

For the double-headers involving Argentina vs. Serbia and Netherlands vs. Ivory Coast on Friday, June 16, we have the best table of the house with unobstructed views of the giant 150 inch screen.

The tables are in the 'Les Visages' area, which is the room behind the main Skidz bar (turn right when you come up the stairs...). The Skidz bar is for the walk-in crowd (mostly standing room only) whereas the room with the biggest screens is for those, who book ahead.

So no more excuses, this is likely to be the best type of arrangement you'll get (other than going to the stadiums in Germany). Sign up and guarantee your seat while we have vacancies left. The minimum amount to be spent on drinks for our group of 15 is $1500, which averages to $100 per person. This should be no problem at all; especially not during a double-header! We may be able to squeeze in a couple of extra people but to be comfortably seated, 15 is the limit.

On Friday morning, I will send a confirmation message to all, who are confirmed. See you there.

So far this list includes
1. texasaxel
2. paulmears
3. matt.rock (Germany game only)
4. Dick in Peak
5. rikckybhk

Looking for 10 more for this Friday and 11 more for June 16 ...

Status of Confirmations

For the Friday matches, we've got confirmed:
1. texasaxel
2. paulmears
3. matt.rock (Germany game only)
4. Dick in Peak
5. rikckybhk
6. KnowItAll (June 16 double-header only)
7. jyotee + 2 (Germany game only)

Seating will be easier to come by for the Sunday - Thursday games; thus, I am focusing on the Friday matches for now.

England games?

Hi Texasaxel

So for the big Saturday night England game only 10 seats available right?
What about standing room?
It would be good if a big group of geoexpat-England (world cup etc) fans could watch the game together on a big screen.
Has there been a lot of interest for the England games?

Also for the England game is there cover charge / minimum spending? (minimum spending not a problem unless their drinks taste awful)

Please put me down for The England game on Sat
- unless someone else can find a better venue in which case I might defect.

RN amd all the nuimbers
