Smile Repatriating to paris, advice on what to when needed....

I am preparing to relocate to paris with my husband, trouble is I am unsure about the practical steps that need to be taken for everything to be in order. Any advice would be welcome.

1) Arrange a mover. Figure 6 weeks in transit for ship stuff. Separate what you need ASAP (goes in your air luggage) from what you can wait for.

2) Notify your employer. Figure you did that. Have them prepare your tax filing.

3) Pay your taxes. You have to do this before you leave. You'll get a 'clearance letter' once that is done.

4) Shop shop shop. Lots of trinkety things for friends, family, colleagues. I find little kung-fu statute guys go over really well as quick gifts. Of course you might want some things for you.

5) Wave goodbye...
