With reddragonfly, you need to change your location in Regional and Language Options to HK SAR. This isn't a problem if English is the only other language you use on your PC. Non ASCII characters change into BIG5 Chinese characters, which is annoying.

Vrindavan, what kind of input method do you want to use - Pronunciation based or character form based?

I just had a look at your other post about IMEs. You can use the Windows one regardless of version. It is downloadable from the Microsoft website if you don't have access to the original disc. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/...e/default.mspx

You can use the Japanese IME for handwriting recognition, though this is far from ideal.

you mean this is the drawback if i change the setting to HKSAR ?

i prefer Pronunciation based, esp. Cantonese as i don't know PTH.

Character form based as support/backup method

i cannot find a free option right now as i am using English version of Windows XP

I use Unionway, to be found at www.unionway.com

Technically, it's just a 30 day trial version, but you can keep on renewing it for free indefinitely.
