Question Buying a Macbook in Hong Kong - A Couple of questions

I'm going to be in HK for a couple of weeks and I'm hoping to buy a Macbook but I have a couple of questions. Firstly, can anyone tell me whether I'll be able to get one with a plain English keyboard, and if so would this be a US or UK layout?

Also, I can see a thread about PC dealers generally but can anyone recommend an Apple dealer to buy from? There seem to be quite a number of dealers/resellers listed on the Apple site.

thanks

I would head for the 10th and 11th floors of Windsor House in Causeway Bay. On one of those floors is an Apple Dealer. Can't comment on English script-only keyboards but generally they will be of a US layout (no GBP symbol). There is another Apple Dealer on either Stanley or Wellington Street in Central. Memory is rather fuzzy this morning like the weather.

My Powerbook is a US keyboard with no Chinese on it, as is my iBook- now you mention it I haven't seen any with Chinese, it must be an after market switchout.

I bought mine at New Vision on Wellington, no issues.

I ran around the city to Wanchai Computer Centre, 298 Computer Centre (there's a New Vision there), New Vision on Wellington, and DG in the IFC - zilch stock. Left my phone number with them - a couple days later they had stock.

FWIW, computer centres weren't discounting at all - though discounting and stock situation may have since improved now that more time has elapsed since the product's release.

the largest customer of apple hk is supplied by www.sencohk.com so you may like to try them

Built-in full-size keyboard with 78 (U.S.) or 79 (ISO) keys, including 12 function keys, 4 arrow keys (inverted "T" arrangement), and embedded numeric keypad

Thanks for the tips. By the time I went to actually buy it on Sunday the weekend shoppers seemed to have cleared out most of the Causeway Bay stores but I managed to find one.

I bought my Macbook at New Vision in Star House, TST. I can definitely recommend them: good service and they were very helpful when I was left with a non-starting Macbook after the latest OS X update.
