Any one know where i can buy general electronic stuff, I am doing various electronic projects with my kids and i need a soldering kit , solar panel, inverter , charge controller plus bits and pieces - I know the golden centre in Sham shui Po but it is very PC focussed- any ideas where I should try ?

Ap Liu Street has a couple of diy component shops. One is upstairs. Take the Sham Shui Po exit for Ap Liu Street and once on it turn right then it is a few shops along on the left. The ground floor is devoid of anything interesting and has no components. Go in and there is an L-shaped staircase up. Sorry I can't remember the name.

I checked out ApLiu street -loads of good stuff they had nearly everything i wanted except the solar panel - so i will check out the websites. Some good Audio/Disco equipment stores as well. I wonder if there is anything like Apliu street in shenzen any ideas ?
