CABLE TV & I-CABLE aka WHARF T&T

On April 28th T&T changed to I-Cable.
My phone line paid for by credit card direct debit for the last five years, suddenly became a cash payment line.

On 17th May I was sent a reminder that Payment was due IMMEDIATELY or my line would be cut.

On saturday I had tried their hotline and there was no human option; I tried their website and there was no mention of telephone service.

last night one month and a day after the name change my line was cut.

I paid the outstanding $182 at 11pm last night at 7-11 for which I will be charged $2 in my next bill

As of now my line remains dead.
There will be a reconnection fee when they do get around to it.

I-cable

I-cable is the worst telephone and broadband provider in Hong Kong in terms of quality of services.

You can never get through their hotline. Also, when you try to terminate their services, it is not that easy.

still dead

I have no complaints with Wharf T&T. They provided a phone line and IDD service and quietly took their money and left me alone.

Having shifted to Skype my IDD bill comes to a few dollars, so I rarely even bother to open the bill.

I have no intention to move as it would be too agravating; and just a while back I posted them a credit card direct debit form which they print on the back of the bill.

This post was just to warn others who may have taken their phone line for granted.

I wonder what Bus Uncle would have done.

getting just a little pissed off

Just got my bill
I am still on a cash basis even though I sent in the auto pay on 30th May.

A reconnection charge of $150 has been charged.
A $2 charge for paying via 7-11 has been charged.

===

The sister company from which I-Cable split sent me a bill [thankfully still auto pay] for a call i made in March.
21 minutes to UK = $47

well at least they waited a decent interval before charging like a wounded bull.

if you care, call to waive the $150. They will do that most of the time.
