Looking for Londoners and more Hi all, I am new to this site so hello to everyone! I just came back to Hong Kong from London and hoping to meet new friends in HK, people from other cultures and countries or come back from outside like me. I think I am in a stage of "reverse culture shock" and it will take me a while to adapt to HK again so I would like to meet new people or someone who can share similar experinece and tell me how can I get over it. Anyone interested to get in touch with? A pint or cup of coffee will be good start! All the Best, Joyce

Hi there, being a Londoner myself, I can imagine a few things that might take a lil getting used to! I'm sure it won't take too long though, as long as u go out and explore everyday, you'll feel like a local in no time! Have fun!

Hi Joyce, Welcome to HK! I've been here for 6 years now. I came back from London in 2000. You'll find HK to be great city. I'm sure you will get to know it in due time. There is a substantial difference in the culture here and it will take a little time adjusting to, though its really nothing of a major concern. I'm sure you will handle it well. I remember when I first got back, everything seemed accelerated. This is a fast track city and you must keep up with the pace. I remember feeling as if my brain was so slow. Kinda felt a bit dumb at first. Anyway just go with the flow and enjoy it as you go along. In no time, you'll be there.

Thanks Thanks for all your messages and encouragments! I agreed with Wildboarhk, it's a really fast city and my friend said since I went to London I am slower than before. I thought I just a bit relax and laid back. However, now I know I need to catch up the fast pace in HK. Sometimes just feeling a bit lost so I will not push myself and will take my time to settle in again. HK is my home town and now it should be good opportunity for me to explore and see things from different angles cause I noticed there are few new places newly or going to open soon like the Ngong Ping360. Cheers, Littlealien
