help! i can't find a pair of good black shoes in US 12 or 13

my boyfriend tried very hard to find a pair of black running shoes in US 12 or 13 in hk for a long time. recently, he bought a pair of reebok in us 12 with luck (there is only one left in Marathon). he would like to buy a pair of rockport but we found that the biggest size in hk's rockport is 11. and sometimes it is not comfortable or big enough because of the design (the shoes is not wide enough, etc.) we have tried and tried to find if there are any good quality shoes shops in hk with adequate amounts of big size.

does anyone here know where these shops are?
we know that there is one shop for expat in TST. but it has moved or shut down already due to the renovation of the hotel.

Have you tried the stalls in Stanley Market? They tend to have gwailo sizes, and there are at least a couple of them selling Rockport.

yes, we have been there many times, but the shoes are not always totally in black and my boyfriend needs a pair of total black (and must not be basketball shoes) for work. he is a big guy and have to wear it everyday, so at around six or nine months the shoes will be worn out and he needs to buy a new one.

he and i are quite desperate in it as sometimes we bought one which seemed good and he would find problems in it. and we had to refund it or exhange other things.

In Stanley, they do have GWEILO sizes... up to European size 14.
Quite a few brands, and the price is also reasonable.

For work shoes (assuming he works in an office or similar) have you looked at shops like Church's in Pacific Place (and other places)? They have traditional leather shoes and, I think at least some styles up to size 12 or 13. They may be a bit expensive (HK$1000-1200) but you can get them resoled for HK$250 or so and they will last for several years.

Have you tried the Rockport store in Pacific Place? I'm wearing a pair of black loafers in 13 Wide (US) that I bought there last year.

yeah we tried that shop but at that time they just said they did not have such a big size. could you tell me more about when you bought it (is it the beginning of the new season or what?) a manager of marathon shop told us that even the rockport shop would now only import US 11 to hk. they said its been improving this year that they have bigger size. i am particularly confused about that because i think there should be many expats with big foot and that is impossible for hk shops not having these sizes for them.

ughh.... if 12 or 13 us is hard.... i'm a 14 us and it's next to impossible to find any. for a place that has a lot of expats and such, hk sure is crappy with regards to finding clothes, shoes and whatnots.

I actually got laughed at today for asking for a UK 11!

I'm going to take the advice here and try Stanley - if anybody finds a shop with larger sizes please let me know!
