Renting in central HK or south island?

Hi. I'm moving to Hong Kong in August to work at a school on the south of the island near Shouson Hill. Can anyone recommend whether it's better to look around Shouson area or to go through the tunnel (not sure of its name ) to Central HK and look there.
My budget per month is around $10,000hk. Most of the apartments near the school seem to be luxurious and much more expensive than my budget.
Thanks

$10,000 budget for renting an apartment in Shouson Hill would be different. Maybe you can try "South Horizon", where is close to your working place and has good environment. Price is reasonable too.

Thanks Greentea. I found out most of the other teachers at the school live around WanChai and the mid levels. I'll have a look at South Horizon too. Thanks again.

Sorry for my typo. My previous message should be "$10,000 budget for renting an apartment in Shouson Hill would be *difficult*."...

Anyway, you should try to look into South Horizon too, which is not bad at all.

If you live in Wanchai, you don't have to go through the tunnel. It shouldn't be more than 20-25 mins to Shouson Hill. Will you be at South Island School?
