| Work Visas (again) Hi, can anyone help ?? I work in the UK for a company who imports products from China/Hong Kong. My company wants me to be based in Hong Kong and to work from there because it costs us a fortune going back and forth from the UK, so i can do factory visits/trade shows etc. We do not have a branch in Hong Kong, so is it still possible for me to obtain a work visa and work freely from Hong Kong? Who would sponsor me cos i heard you need someone based in HK to be your sponsor? Can i still be paid directly from the UK or would that cause problems with HK taxation etc? Any ideas ?? |

| Yes a UK firm can employ you, pay you, and sponsor you ito work in HK. You would be subject to HK salaries tax, not UK, because is based on where you do the work, not where you are paid. Fairly quickly though you will probably want to set up some sort of legal entity in Hong Kong - this is not hard to do - there are many companies / professionals who can advise on how to do it. |
