Good place to live near Cheung Sha Wan?

Hello,

New to the forum and thinking of moving to Hong Kong from the US.
Cheung Sah Wan would be where my office is.
Just wondering if anyone can give some good adivce regarding housing that's close by and somewhat affordable.
Much appreciated!

hello. i'd suggest you can take a look of New Territory area, such as
Tsing Yi - not that expensive, so many estates have club house, sea view, 10mins to Cheung Sha Wan, but bit crowd
Ma Wan - same as Tsing Yi, but quiet, however no direct bus to CSW
if you need more info, pm me with your expectation, cheers

Cool

Cheung Sha Wan is a factory area and the air pollution index there is high. There are some new residential units nearby but they are generally small in size.

You may try Wonderland Villas. This is an old development up the hill but the view is nice. 3 MTR stations away from Cheung Sha Wan. Here's a website u can refer to http://www.shkrealestate.com.hk/wond...pic/bigmap.jpg

Or u can try the low density apartment near Tai Po Rd. It's not far away from Cheung Sha Wan if you drive.

Alternatively, u can search from this website of a property agent

You can try "Mei Foo Sun Chuen" too. Though it is old, it is well-developed. You can travel to Cheung Sha Wan conveniently. Price is reasonable and transportation is good too.

Cheung Sha Wan is located on the Tsuen Wan line so is pretty convenient to get to and you can use Cheung Sha Wan mtr station for the east side and Lai Chi Kok station if you are based on the extreme west side. You can get there directly by train from HK island but if you want to be close to work you have plenty of options.

There are new apartments in Cheung Sha Wan/Lai Chi Kok border on Lai Chi Kok road only 5 mins from Lai Chi Kok station. Alternatively you have Mei Foo and other locations to the west. Prince Edward, Mongkok and Tsim Sha Tsui to the south east aren't far away. Places like Sha Tin are only a 10 minute drive.

Cheung Sha Wan itself is a mix of old town and factories and new apartments. Not a bad place, but not a good place. Working there is fine, living there would be a completely different ball game!

Rarely hear anyone mentioning about Tsing Yi on this forum. I think those estates near the MTR are fantastic places to live in. all these shops, resturants nearby. a few mins walk to the MTR, take u to the central within 10 mins, all these motorways connect to the major areas in Kowloon, NT, and HK Island within 10 to 15 mins journey.

Some of my relatives live in Espanada Villa where you have sea view, majority of people live there are business people and professionals ie Pilots, doctors, office people etc + a few Europeans. of course some normal poeple as well. I like it there !

Tsing Yi is quite a central location, where you can conveniently travel to most of the places in New Territories (e.g. Sheung Shui so that you can travel to Shenzhen much faster), Central, Central Kowloon and Airport. Unless you need to travel to work in Eastern New Territories (e.g.Tseung Kwan O), Easter Kowloon (e.g. Kwun Tong) or Eastern Hong Kong (e.g. Chai Wan), you can get most of the places quite convenient.
