| | Belkin Wireless Router + Netvigator Anyone had any experience configuring a Belkin Wireless router to work with netvigator?
I am having a bit of trouble trying to get it to work - I am sure that I supplied it with the correct username/password...but it wouldn't connect to the modem correctly.
Now, for the protocol part of the setup, I had a couple of choices - I was pretty sure that Dynamic/Static IPs are not what I wanted...so far I have been configuring the router with PPPoE.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,

| | | PPPoE is correct, so if you're positive your username and password are right, it might be a physical thing. You have to connect to the port on the modem that normally goes to the single PC, at the oposite end to the one that goes to the NOW STB if you have one. Don't think any of the other ports will work. Sorry, not at home to look so can't be more precise!
When you say it wouldn't connect to the modem correctly, what do you mean exactly? Are you looking at the router's status page and seeing that it's not logging in, or are you just not getting internet access through the router? | |

| | | remember in the PPPoE that your username has to include the "@netvigator.com" bit, not just the unique name... | |

| | | Most of the time things just work after you've done a hard reset and entered your login / username for PPPoE. | |

| | | Problems with Belkin Wireless router i am not sure if it is the router or the connection itself, but i get a lot of "limited or no connectivity connection" and i have to click on repair a few times, and sometimes have to do a hard reset to make it work.
I used linksys and buffalo back in sydney before and never had that problem.
Has anyone ever experienced this or know a way to encouter this problem?

| | There's a known error with Microsoft XP service pack 2 generating false limited connectivity errors. You can download the patch from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
Hope this helps | |

| | | basically, i have done both the manual configuration way and using the quick-setup program - and i would enter all the information (including the @netvigator portion), then the router would attempt to establish a connection to the modem, and that's where it dies. i'm not sure whether it's the router not logging in or i'm not getting internet connection.
the physical connections, however, are correct - there is only one ethernet outlet on my modem, and that goes to the "internet" port on my router, then another cable runs from one of the free ports to my computer.
and yes, after the router failed to connect to the modem (and the internet), i started getting the limited connectivity bug as well.
though, no hard resets are done in the process - the router reboots itself whenever the settings are changed.
Thanks,

| | | I though "limited connectivity" was a wireless issue. Take the router out of the loop and make sure that you can connect without it. | |

| | | It's not specifically a wireless issue, and in any case as you can see from the previous post the PC in question is connected with a wire. | | Tools | Search | | | | | Rate This Thread | | | All times are GMT +8. The time now is 08:00 AM. | |
