Hi, am looking to relocate to Hong Kong in the near future for good due to work, my partner and I don't know anyone there, how easy is it to make friends? We are young (25) into the usual, eating, drinking and being merry! Any suggestions on meeting people??

my partner and i have just relocated to Hong Kong from Aust., not knowing anyone here..... we have found it quite a "welcoming" city. Lots of fun, lots to do and many ways to find friends. Quite a few of the folks around here seem to be in the same boat as us...... they are friendly and keen to meet new people as well. This website seems to be a pretty good place to start meeting people, and its also really easy meeting people at bars, cafes etc. We have only been here for 3 weeks so i will keep you posted on our progress in the "friend making" department if you like!

Thanks for your reply - glad someone did!! I have been a bit freaked out about moving over and not knowing anyone but this website has definately made me more positive about it. Seems like everyone is really friendly and out to have a good time. Not too sure when we are heading over but would definately appreciate you keeping me updated on your progress! I see you live in the Midlevels, I have been doing some research and think that's probably where we will go too! Did you move over for work or just doing a bit of an OE? Any advice you could give me would be great!! Cheers :-)

A word in support of the previous poster. I came here alone about 3 months ago and find it very easy to get out and about and meet new people. The best place to meet people are through this site, activities you enjoy (for example, I believe some of the sporting clubs are pretty lively) and, dare I say it, work colleagues! You'll soon build up a network. Welcome!
