Social life for an expat

1. Can you all give me some ideas for where to find out about expat happy hours, etc? My husband was transferred to Hong Kong and I dont plan to work for a few months.

2. Where would one find information about running clubs, tennis clubs, getting to know the city tours etc.

3. If I wanted to be driven around the city to get my bearings for 1/2 a day or so, would you recommend a particular service, or just hiring a cab for half a day?

Thank you!

One of the things you may want to consider is going to a CHAT organised by the American Women's Association, which despite its name is a fairly multicultural group.

Bwc,

The only way to get to know HK is by walking. The Y organise a orientation called "At Home Group" http://www.esmdywca.org.hk/
Also click on "Out There" for info on upcoming excursions.

The American Women's Assn have a great tennis group. They also introduce you to other newcomers so you can explore HK together. This group is called "Foon Ying" (welcome in cantonese) www.awa.org.hk

There's the Ladies' Hash Harriers for running

Good Luck!

It would be great idea if we have a happy hour and gather all the expat to chit chat hiihihihiih Or we can gather those expat's wife or gf together also. It would be a great way to make some friends. Let me know if anyone want to go this. Email me at Ann_pham@hotmal.com
