The only people who get any joy out of pedigrees in Hong KOng are the vets. Go to any of the above websites and support rescue dogs- many of which are also actually pedigrees which owners can's support or cross breeds which will give you real pleasure as much as a pedigree without the snob factor.
Don't get me started!
Do a search also- this topic has been covered a lot on these forums.

For me, I suggested you can pick one from the SPCA, you save the puppy's life and also they ensure the dogs are health there.

Meaning that the majority of pedigree breeds bought from pet shops are physically unhealthy and therefore need constant trips to the vet and thats where the vets make a tidy amount of money.

Hence lammarites comment and I totally agree with him, I'm more than happy with my healthy staffy bull terrier mix and wouldn't dream of spending stupid money on getting a pedigree rat from a mongkok pet store.

if you really knew what you were talking about. most vets i know are as frustrated with the inbred faults in purebreds as you are. most vets are more concerned with animal welfare than with making money out of the suffering of an animal.

you have a vindictive opinion of vets as being money sucking, preying on the weaknesses that are present in a lot of inbred dogs, and loving them for it. thats as bad as saying doctors like kids that are suffering from some disability because the frequent trips to the doc make them money.

if you ask a vet to recommend a breed know for hardiness and free of faults, most will recommend a cross breed, unless YOU are fussy about purebreed.

Likewise, dear Lammarite (makes mental note not to defend anyone when others slag them without basis)
