I remember when I was around 14... I started to do weights. I couldn't do a single push up myself! What I did was, I started with a diagonal push up. Find a sturdy table to rest your hands on. Make sure the table is against a wall so that your body weight won't move it. Place both your hands on the edge of the table and start moving. So it's basically a pushup done on the edge of the table. If you're strong enought to do 12 reps easily, time to move on to kneeling push ups. It's the same as regular pushups but with your body resting on your knees instead of your feet. If you can do 12 reps easily, it's time to do real push ups, dude.
The closer you place your hands together while doing the push up, the more your triceps are emphasized. The wider apart you place your hands, the more it targets your chest. Just make sure your upper arm and forearm form a 90degree angle when you're in the lowered position.
I don't think training the biceps would help your pushups that much. Training your triceps would help you more in executing your pushups.
