I just find the attitude shown by local HKers towards the mainlanders extremely surprising and discouraging. Why is it the locals show such scorn to them? Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I know, most HK locals are also descendants from the same immigrant "stock". It is also these same "immigrants" that faced enormous hardships, made a lot of sacrifices, worked tirelessly to help their progeny enjoy the fruits of their labor and ultimately, this is the attitude the locals have to show for it.......sad.
