Hi hardheadben,

The AFCD website will give you all the info you need on importing a puppy. To begin with, the dog has to be a minimum of 4 months old. You will need to find a breeder who is willing to do a substantial amount of paperwork and vet visits in the home country to prepare the pup for import.

Didn't mean to totally discourage you from bull terriers, which are great dogs, and actually cope pretty well with the heat and humidity in HK. Some just need a lot of love and attention, whereas bulldogs are often quieter and sleep more.

If you are interested in trying out a bull terrier, there is one at hong kong dog rescue right now that can be fostered short or long term. He's a pretty neat dog.

Oh, have you considered a French bulldog? Smaller, great apartment dogs and less health problems than an English bulldog but still hardy and fun.
