| There are in fact many short term / weekend rental houses / apartments available on Lantau, Cheung Chau and Lamma islands. I used to go with my friends back in school, and many people do so over weekends. But if you don't speak / read Chinese then you may find it difficult to find such information.
The most convenient way may be to go to Sino Centre in Mongkok, which has many weekend rental stores. They may speak some English. They should have pictures of the houses available and their locations.
I couldn't find any English web sites, but you can try to call these agents up.
