| having just returned from the U.S. and Europe (france / amsterdam / brussels...) i can totally attest to the blatant 'bias' of the western media. not only major media (eg. CNN situation) but even local news anchors and trashy day time talk shows (the gabbers on the View for example - Whoopie actually questioned McCain on whether he would boycott China if he was the president - and nodded in agreement when he said yes - followed by the entire audience cheering / clapping... sorry it was a slow morning heheh) Anyways, the western media bias is done in a more 'sophisticated' manner - seemingly unbiased but never showing the other side of the story - the ironic thing is that the news on CNN etc actually featured segments from the Chinese news coverage - with an anchor pointing out to the audience how the Chinese media is censoring the truth and pushing their side of the story... uh... isn't it also happening on CNN...?? i guess the chinese media needs to learn a thing or two from the west on how to 'cleverly manipulate' public opinion without being as obvious.. perhaps hire one of the exec producers of CNN over to CCTV... The interesting thing is, the west is blaming China for closing Tibet to foreign reporters, with this kind of biased news coverage, i don't blame china for not letting reporters in...
honestly, even if there are pro-china protests in Europe / U.S., i doubt they will get any airtime or write-up anyways... i can't even find any mention of ANY pro-china activity on cnn... and they seemed to have removed their story about Jack Cafferty and his goons/thugs/junk comments as well from their site as well... can't get reliable news coverage anywhere anymore...
i'm on the same page as many on this thread, all i would like to see is coverage of both sides of the story. CNN - being a global player - should know better and be more accountable than this...
