It is a completely different thing to say that you prefer San Miguel to Foster's. That is simply a matter of subjective taste.
The problem with almost all religions (and I don't particularly distinguish between them - all the Abrahamic religions, for example, are really just minor variations on the same theme) is that they require an unquestioning belief (i.e. "faith") in things for which there is no scientific evidence and for which there is a very substantial body of counter-evidence.

Not by me they're not. Anyone whose
modus vivendi requires the suspension of rational thought is not someone who is going to get a huge amount of respect from me.
I will, of course, tolerate them so long as they are not harming others by their actions or trying to impose their superstitions on others. The question of children is a tricky one here of course. I am a firm believer that practising a religion should be an "adults only" activity.
